Your Eye Examination
Your eye examination goes beyond your prescription. Depending on the purpose of your visit, your symptoms and clinical needs, we may assess your vision, how your eyes work together and your eye health.
We explain the findings and guide you through any next steps.

WAM 700
Seven measurements in one scan
All from one machine:
Pressure matters most when glaucoma runs in the family, and corneal thickness changes how that pressure should be read.

Retina 800
A closer look at your retina
Retinal photography captures a detailed image of the back of your eye, helping us:

Slit lamp biomicroscope
A closer look at the front of your eye
A slit lamp uses light and magnification to help us:

Myopia Expert 700
Tracking eye growth. Mapping the cornea
These measurements support myopia care for children and adults with high myopia, as well as speciality contact lens fitting:
Subjective Refraction & Binocular Vision Assessment
Subjective refraction fine-tunes your prescription accurately, so that you see clearly and comfortably. A new prescription can sometimes bring headaches, eyestrain or trouble reading up close. Often that is about how the two eyes work together and how well they focus at near with the new lenses. We check both before we finalise your prescription.
LASIK does not remove the retinal risks associated with high myopia. LASIK reshapes the cornea so that you can see clearly without glasses, but it does not undo the length the eye has already grown to. In high myopia, the eyeball is usually elongated, which means the axial length is longer than average. The risk of damage at the back of the eye rises with every additional millimetre. If your prescription was high before surgery, your retina should still be examined at the same recommended intervals.
A thinner cornea can also cause the pressure inside the eye to be underestimated. This is important when screening for glaucoma.
Meet Our Optometrists
Every examination is conducted by a registered optometrist. Clinical care comes first.

Hazwan has over 12 years of clinical experience, with a particular interest in early detection, childhood myopia management and digital eye strain. Beyond his degree, he has completed additional online training in evidence-based myopia management with the Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) and UNSW Australia, as part of his continued commitment to learning and patient care.

Syikin has 10 years of clinical experience, with a particular interest in children’s eye care, myopia management and contact lens fitting. She takes the time to explain the findings clearly, so parents understand their child’s eye health and the options available.

As myopia progresses, the eye lengthens from front to back. A millimetre of that growth is nothing you can see, and nothing your child will feel. It shows up much later, at the back of the eye. That is why we follow axial length, which tells us more about long-term eye health than the prescription alone.
Every child’s eye grows with age, and that is normal. Our concern begins when the eye lengthens faster than expected for that age. If we spot a fast rate early, we can step in and slow it down.
Spectacle lenses designed to slow myopia progression. They are worn like ordinary glasses, so they change a child’s daily routine the least, which is why we usually discuss them first. They only work while they are worn, so full-time wear matters.
Redeem the promotion ↗A rigid lens worn overnight that reshapes the cornea while your child sleeps. Nothing is worn during the day. It needs careful fitting and scheduled review.
Tell me when it starts ↗Whatever we start with, axial length is measured again at each review, so the eye is compared against itself and we can tell early whether it is working.
Book a review ↗Two children can share the same prescription and still face very different futures. Myopia CARE follows how the eye is growing, so a fast rate is picked up while treatment is most likely to help.
